Dental Implant Cost UK 2026: NHS, Private and Abroad Compared

Share:

A single dental implant in the UK typically costs between £2,000 and £3,500 privately, and an All-on-4 full arch can run from £8,000 to £15,000. For most adults, the NHS does not offer implants at all. That is why more and more UK patients are looking abroad – and why the gap is bigger than most people expect. This guide compares what you will actually pay in 2026 on the NHS, at a private UK practice and at our clinic in Tirana.

Can You Get Dental Implants on the NHS?

Only in a small number of cases. NHS-funded implants are reserved for patients with severe clinical needs – for example after major trauma or head and neck cancer – and are provided through NHS hospitals, not your local dental practice. For a missing tooth, the NHS will usually offer a bridge or a denture instead.

Those fall under Band 3, which costs £332.10 in England from April 2026. It is the cheapest route to filling a gap, but it is not an implant: a bridge relies on filing down the healthy teeth either side, and a denture sits on the gums rather than in the bone.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost Privately in the UK?

Across more than 1,100 UK practices, a complete single implant – the implant, abutment and crown – typically costs £2,000 to £3,500, with a median of around £2,500. Large providers sit in the same range: Bupa Dental Care, for example, starts at £2,400 for a single implant with a crown.

Full-arch treatment is where the numbers climb fastest. All-on-4 typically costs £8,000 to £15,000 per arch in the UK, and All-on-6 £10,000 to £20,000. If you need both jaws treated, the bill can easily pass £20,000. Bone grafting, when needed, usually adds £300 to £800.

How Much Do Dental Implants Cost at HMC in Albania?

Our prices start from:

  • Implant + abutment (MegaGen ST) — from €400 (≈ £340).
  • Complete single tooth (implant, abutment and crown) — from €520 (≈ £440).
  • All-on-4 (4 implants and 12 crowns per arch) — from €3,040 (≈ £2,570).
  • All-on-6 (6 implants and 12 crowns per arch) — from €3,840 (≈ £3,250).
  • Bone graft — from €100 (≈ £85).

Put simply: a single implant tooth at HMC starts at less than a fifth of the typical UK price, and a full All-on-4 arch costs about the same as one single implant at a typical UK practice. Tirana is a direct flight of around three hours from London, and your exact price is confirmed in writing before you travel.

Why Implants Cost Less in Albania – Without Cutting Corners

The difference comes from running costs – rent, salaries and overheads are far lower in Tirana than in London or Manchester. The implants themselves are not cheaper versions:

  • Named implant systems: MegaGen as our primary system, Straumann where the case calls for it – the brand is written on your quotation.
  • 3D planning: implant cases are planned from a 3D CT scan of your actual bone.
  • Implant passport: every implant is recorded on the manufacturer’s certificate card, with its label and tooth position. Here is why that matters.
  • 5-year warranty on implants placed at HMC.

How the Treatment Works

  • Free online consultation: send us photos and any X-rays from home and receive a treatment plan and written quote.
  • First visit: examination, 3D scan and implant placement. Full-arch patients leave with fixed provisional teeth.
  • Healing at home: a few months while the implants bond with the bone.
  • Second visit: your final crowns or bridge are made and fitted.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get dental implants on the NHS?

Only in exceptional cases, such as after head and neck cancer or major trauma, and through NHS hospitals rather than high-street practices. For most adults, the NHS offers a bridge or denture instead, at the Band 3 charge of £332.10 in England.

How much is a single dental implant in the UK in 2026?

A complete single implant with crown typically costs £2,000 to £3,500 privately, with a median of around £2,500. At HMC in Tirana, a complete single implant tooth starts from €520 (about £440).

How much is All-on-4 in the UK?

Typically £8,000 to £15,000 per arch privately. At HMC, All-on-4 starts from €3,040 per arch (about £2,570), including four implants and twelve crowns.

Why are implants so much cheaper in Albania?

Because running a clinic in Tirana costs far less than in the UK. We use the same international implant systems – MegaGen and Straumann – and every implant is recorded in your implant passport.

How many trips do I need?

Usually two: one to place the implants and one, a few months later, to fit the final teeth. Full-arch patients go home with fixed provisional teeth after the first visit.
